Outdoor family photoshoots take place in and around Marlow in Buckinghamshire - I have walked many miles around the local area over the years with my family and know the best spots for my photo shoots! These sessions can be done in all seasons and each season brings with it its own unique colouring and feel to the images - from being wrapped up warm in the winter sessions, through to the light and airy feel of the spring sessions. Capturing natural smiles and expressions is always my aim, so that you have photographs to cherish for years to come.
These sessions are a great way to get all of the family together and are a lovely way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or just an excuse to get the whole family together!

For immediate family and four legged friends I also offer Outdoor Mini Shoots. These sessions are for 20-30 minutes and you will get up to 15 images to view in an online gallery, from which you can choose five hi-res digital images in both colour and black and white.

how does it work?
step one

Once we have agreed a date you pay the Session Fee to secure your booking and complete the Booking Form

Before your shoot I will send you a Pre-Shoot Guide with all the information about your shoot, what to wear and colours to go for

Shoot day!

After your shoot I will edit your gallery of images and after 1-2 weeks will send you a link and text you a password so you can view your online, fully edited gallery. The images will be edited in both colour and black and white.

You can then choose which Collection you would like to go for and select your images. At this stage we can also discuss the framing options and any extra prints you would like.

Once you have chosen your Collection I will then send you a link to download your digital images (the number depends on which Collection you have chosen) and will process your prints, frames/products and send these out to you.

Our son is 15 months and I wanted to capture his baby features before they were gone! Kate’s experience photographing young children was clear and she has a useful blog on preparing for a shoot with a child.
I had not done a photo shoot before and I found her tips on what to wear, her pragmatic plan for the morning outdoors with a toddler
and her efficient communications made me feel very comfortable.
The photos we have are fantastic, high quality and beautifully capture his personality. We have done lots of reprints for family!

The weather in the UK is so unpredictable and we will usually try and go ahead if the rain is on and off and just allow a little more time for the session and hopefully find some more sheltered areas. If it’s really raining hard then I will be in contact and we can reschedule.
What happens if it rains?
Can I include more than just my immediate family?
For my Outdoor Sessions these are a great way to include grandparents, aunties and uncles and even the pet dog! I do offer Mini Outdoor Shoots and these are for immediate family only due to the shortened time of the session, but are a great option if you want to update a wall.
What should I wear/bring?
Before your photo shoot I will send you a pre-shoot guide which will hopefully answer any questions that you may have and also give you some hints and tips on styling for your session.
If you want an outdoor shoot then I will take you to my tried and tested sweet spots which are all in and around Marlow! However, if you have something more specific in mind then please just let me know, I’m always interested to find new locations!

These sessions are around 2 hours for the Family Sessions. When we go outdoors we will go on a walk together and stop off at all the lovely spots I have scouted out. There will be plenty of time for the kids to climb, grab sticks and if they’re lucky, to see the amazing Marlow castle!!
