When your newborn baby arrives those first few days and weeks are to be treasured and adored, for they are over and onto the next milestone in the blink of an eye. Capturing tiny features, adoring looks, sleepy cuddles and so much more is always such an honour for me – to be allowed in for a short time to this sweet, quiet bubble of happiness, to capture images that can be cherished for years to come.
Lifestyle Newborn & Baby Photo Shoot
What does a Lifestyle Newborn shoot mean? My lifestyle photo shoots sit between a traditional portraiture session, which is posed and styled to every detail, and a documentary photo shoot, which is more relaxed and is about capturing the natural moments and connections.
Lifestyle is a portrayal of reality and the images capture the feelings that this stage of family life creates in togetherness, wonderment and dependency.
My lifestyle newborn/baby photo shoots can take place either in your home, or in my natural light studio in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

how does it work?

Once we have agreed a date you pay the Session Fee to secure your booking and complete the Booking Form

Before your shoot I will send you a Pre-Shoot Guide with all the information in about your shoot

Shoot day!

After your shoot I will edit your gallery of images and after 1-2 weeks will send you a link and text you a password so you can view your online, fully edited gallery. The images will be edited in both colour and black and white.

You can then choose which Collection you would like to go for and select your images. At this stage we can also
discuss the framing options and any extra prints you would like.

Once you have chosen your Collection I will then send you a link to download your digital images (the number depends on which Collection you have chosen) and will process your prints, frames/products and send these out to you.discuss the framing options and any extra prints you would like.

Ideally after your 20 week scan, or 2-3 months before your due date – the sooner the better as I do get booked up!
When should I book my newborn session?
What is the best age to photograph a newborn?
The ideal age for a newborn session is when the baby is 1-2 weeks of age, as they are still very sleepy and curled up.
However, I often photograph older babies and they can be as sleepy as the very newborn stage – it just dependson the baby! These sessions can be for babies up to 3 months old.
How long is a newborn session?
These sessions usually take around 1.5-2 hours, as I like to not be rushed and allow baby to feed as and when required. I’ve learnt over the years that every baby is different and we can never predict when they will be having a hungry growing phase!
I can either come to your home, or you are more than welcome to my natural light studio in Marlow. The space is light, warm and specious, with a changing bed and refreshments for parents. Just let me know at the time of booking where you would prefer to have your session.

At the time of booking your shoot I will send you a Pre-Shoot Guide, which should hopefully answer any questions or queries you may have, and will also advise on what to wear and what to expect.
What does the Session Fee include?
The session fee includes your Pre-Shoot Guide, a two hour photography session, my editing time, and access to anonline gallery to view your images. You can then select one of the three Collections, please click here to see what they include.

We were welcomed into Kate’s gorgeous studio at the end of January. From the second we stepped foot inside her pristine building we felt at home. It was warm and cosy (perfect for our little baby to be calm and content), fresh and inviting. Kate has a natural way with both adults and children.
